Zodi Animal is a reading site. You give it a birth date, it works out an animal, and it shows you a symbolic reading. This page explains what happens to your information when you do that.

The short version

• You do not need an account to get a reading.
• Your readings are computed in your browser.
• Your birth date is stored only in your own browser and is not uploaded to us.
• We use Google Analytics, and the site carries Google ads. Those are run by Google, which uses cookies. You can control both.
• You can erase everything the site has kept by clearing this site's data in your browser.

What you enter, and where it stays

When you enter a birth date to find your animal or cast a chart, the calculation runs in your browser. Your birth date is saved in your browser's local storage on your device so the site can remember your reading on your next visit. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

The same is true when you enter someone else's birth date to compare two people. That input stays on your device.

What is stored in your browser

The site keeps a small amount of information in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device on its own. It includes:

• your birth details and your most recent reading, so the site can greet you with your animal;
• your progress, streaks, and Zodi Karma while you explore;
• items you keep, such as saved proverbs, and small preferences like your last view;
• a private, on-device tally of how you moved through the site. This tally is never sent anywhere by default, and it is switched off entirely if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

If you enter an email in the "daily reading" box in the footer, that email is saved only in your browser for now. The daily email is not yet running, so nothing is sent.

How to erase your data

Because this information lives in your browser, you are in control of it. To remove it, clear this site's data (site data, cookies, and local storage) for zodianimal.com in your browser settings. After that, the site treats you as a new visitor.

Optional accounts

Most of the site works without an account. If you choose to create one, you can sign up with an email and password, or with Google. When you do, some information is stored on a server so your account can exist across devices:

• your email address, and a display name if you provide one;
• a small profile: your computed animal and signs, and your Zodi Karma and streak.

Your raw birth date is not part of your account and is not uploaded. Accounts and this profile are stored by our backend provider (Supabase). If you sign in with Google, your use of Google sign-in is also governed by Google. Signing out ends your session; to close an account, contact us at the address below.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, such as which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects standard technical details like your approximate location, device, and browser. It does not receive your birth date. Google Analytics is a Google service, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out across all sites with Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

This site is supported by ads served through Google (Google AdSense). Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. This is handled by Google, not by us, and your birth date is not shared with it. You can review and control the ads you see, including opting out of personalized ads, in Google's Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data for ads in Google's advertising notice.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site itself does not set cookies. It uses your browser's local storage, described above. The cookies you may encounter here are set by the Google services named above (Analytics and ads). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the Google controls linked above.

Fonts

Pages load web fonts from Google's font service. When they do, your browser contacts Google, which can see your IP address as part of that request. This is standard for sites that use web fonts.

Children

This site is for general audiences and is meant for reflection and entertainment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

• Turn on Do Not Track in your browser to switch off the site's own on-device tally.
• Clear this site's data to erase what is stored in your browser.
• Use Google's Analytics opt-out and Ads Settings, linked above, to control Google's collection.
• Skip creating an account, or sign out and ask us to close one.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. Please check back from time to time.
