丙午, fire doubled
The Fire Horse
Fire as the Horse's own element, and fire again in the stem above it. The rarest of the five, and the one with a reputation the others never earned.

What is the Fire Horse?
The Fire Horse, 丙午 (bǐng-wǔ), is the Horse of 1906, 1966, and 2026, the pairing where the sign's own fire meets the Fire heavenly stem. It carries the strongest reputation of the five Horses, read as bright, fast, and hard to rein, and it is the reason the whole sixty-year cycle is watched most closely here.
The temperament
How the element reads on the Horse
Picture the Horse's usual drive, then double the heat under it. That is the read on the Fire Horse. Where the other four run, this one sprints, and where they warm to a plan, this one is already moving. The old sources call it willful. A kinder word is unwilling to wait.
The 1966 Fire Horse names carry that charge. Mike Tyson took the heavyweight title younger than anyone before him. Halle Berry opened a door no one had opened. Janet Jackson moved more than a hundred million records. These are the people the year produced, not a promise about anyone born in 2026.

The Fire Horse and the Sun signs
The element sets the year. The Sun sign sets the animal. A Fire Horse born under one sign meets a different creature on our grid than one born under another, and the twelve Horse-year crossings each have a name. Three of them: Pronghorn, the Aries HorseParadise Riflebird, the Leo HorseAlbatross, the Sagittarius Horse.
See the sign itself in the Year of the Horse, cross it with your own Western sign, or read the other Horses through the Fire Horse hub.
