A room of Metal · 金
One of the five phases behind your Primal Zodiac Animal
feng shui
In feng shui, Metal belongs to the west and the 兌 (duì) trigram, Lake, and to the northwest and 乾 (qián), Heaven. It is carried by white, gray, and metallics, by round and arched or domed shapes, by real metal, and by stone.
To strengthen Metal in a room, add its source, Earth. To calm an excess of Metal, let it drain into Water or temper it with Fire. Round metal objects, white and gray tones, and clean lines are the usual carriers, placed to invite clarity and order.
Classically the west is tied to children and creativity and the northwest to helpful people, mentors, and the patriarch. Some modern systems stretch metal and these directions into promises of wealth or authority. Treat the classical associations as symbolic and the guaranteed-outcome versions as modern popularisation, not law. A metal object is traditionally intended to invite focus, and nothing more is promised.
