Water in your space

feng shui

In feng shui, Water belongs to the north and the 坎 (kǎn) trigram. It is carried by black and deep blue, by wavy and free-flowing shapes, by glass and mirror, and by real water.

Placing Water

To strengthen Water in a room, add its source, Metal. To calm an excess of Water, let it drain into Wood or bank it with Earth. Real water features, dark tones, and reflective surfaces are the usual carriers, placed to suggest flow and depth.

The honest note on wealth

Popular feng shui ties Water to wealth and flow, 水主财 (shuǐ zhǔ cái). Treat this as symbolic intention, not a mechanism. Guaranteed-wealth placement claims are modern commercial popularisation, not classical law. A water feature is traditionally intended to invite a sense of flow, and nothing more is promised.
